Anjali Ranadive - (President, Founder, Wolf Behaviorist)
Anjali founded Jaws and Paws in 2013 while she was pursuing a Bachelor’s degree from the University of California, Berkeley. She has always been passionate about animals, as Anjali worked at the Monterey Bay Aquarium, several animal shelters, and the Ocean Project of Hawaii in her adolescence. Anjali dreamed of founding an organization that encouraged young women to get involved in environmental science and protecting animals. Jaws and Paws initially formed to promote awareness for sharks and the ocean, but has now morphed into an organization that aims to help all living creatures, mainly wolves. Anjali and her team began rescuing wolf dogs from horrible living conditions and finding sanctuary for them. It was always Anjali’s dream to have land for Jaws and Paws so she could provide permanent homes for abandoned, abused, and neglected animals of all kind. Now, years later, the Jaws and Paws team acquired property to be the home for over 30 rescued wolf dogs, tortoises, goats, lizards, and more! It is Anjali’s goal to teach children and young girls about the importance of conservation and wolves through education and awareness. Anjali received the Paul Walker Ocean Leadership award in 2015 for her feats in the preservation of marine life.
Crystal Ochoa - (Vice-President, Wolf Behaviorist)
Crystal became Vice-President of Jaws and Paws at the end of 2019, when the wolf-dog sanctuary was established. She studied Animal Behavior and Psychology at California State University of Northridge. She spent her childhood volunteering at the humane society and local zoo in Akron, Ohio where she grew up. After graduating with a bachelor’s degree, she worked at other animal sanctuaries such as the Eco-Station in Culver City as a wildlife educator and caretaker. While with the Eco-Station she taught programs to educate children on conservation, environmental preservation, and ecology. Crystal aims to utilize her psychology degree by adding another dimension to Jaws and Paws; ‘animal therapy’ which involves interactive healing.
