The Anti-Wolf Virus Epidemic is Growing
The relentless hate that is directed towards wolves is undermining conservation efforts. It is critical now more than ever to re-list wolves and protect them. The blatant epidemic of cruelty towards wolves is reversing any conservation progress to preserve the species.
Idaho and Montana legislatures along with hunters have their claws deep in professional wildlife managers in their states. They have managed to legalize and enable inhumane tactics of so-called hunting to give hunters a ridiculously unfair advantage such as: electronic calling, baiting, night vision equipment, unlimited weaponry, use of vehicles, snaring, unrestricted limits, and compensation for expenses (which are also known as bounties).
Its getting outrageous at this point - the government must reinstate protections immediately.
Daniel M. Ashe, former USFWS Director stated in his Washington Post article recently; “This isn’t wildlife management - its ecocide.” If we don’t do something instantly, legislators will continue raining terror. Why? Because many of them see wolves as pests and vermin who shouldn’t be here. This anti-wold virus is inevitably going to infect not just Idaho and Montana - but other states where there are prominent wolf populations as well.
What needs to happen is an EMERGENCY LISTING for wolves! We must return management to professionals and scientists - not to hunters and wolf killers. Interior @secdebhaaland has the power to do something, as does agriculture secretary Tom Vilsack and President Biden @potus. They can issue emergency orders prohibiting the implementation of augmented hunting/trapping regulations.
Haaland must direct fish & wildlife service and formulate a legitimate board of wildlife biologists and conservationists. Biden NEEDS to nominate a qualified fish & wildlife director who can promote unity and proper leadership.
This violent Idaho anti-wolf virus is ultimately going to also affect the management of other predators as well.
In all truth - what is occurring in Idaho and Montana is NOT hunting: its vicious cruelty. Ashe states: “Anyone who participates is no hunter, and certainly no sportsman. Anyone or any organization that does not speak in vociferous opposition cannot claim the mantle of conservationist. Anyone who condones or tolerates it is complicit.” - I couldn’t agree more.
The anti-wolf virus is epidemic and threatens to strip the most successful conservation story in our country’s history. It is absolutely going to affect the populations of wolves but predators and other animals who rely on these keystone species in general. THE VACCINE IS LEGITIMATE FEDERAL LEADERSHIP AND US STANDING UP AND RAISING AWARENESS AND FIGHTING FOR WHAT IS RIGHT!
Stop the slaughter.
